Path with Art, in partnership with the Seattle Latino Film Festival and Seattle Opera, is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a showing of the documentaryThe Muralists’ Beautiful Pain”. This film explores the stories of seven Chicanx mural artists from the Bay Area who face personal and cultural challenges as artists of color. The film’s director, Victor Aquino, will make introductions prior to the start of the film.

Prior to the documentary we will screen the 5 min short poetry film “Habana,” directed by the Venezuelan filmmaker Luiner Lugo, in collaboration with an international team of artists. The short film is based on Havana, a poem written by Jorge Enrique González Pacheco, a Cuban-American well-known poet and film industry professional.

SLFF includes international filmmakers, producers, and actors with the specific purpose of engaging the Seattle community with cross-cultural perspectives, and to create a forum to explore those perspectives, many of which are integral to the experience of "Latinidad."To learn more about the festival and to see the program visit slff.org
