Impact
Imagine a world in which the power of art is available for all.
Twenty years ago, we began with a belief held by Indigenous communities, healers, and artists throughout history: that the arts are not a luxury, but a fundamental human need. Art is how we build belonging, process grief, and find our way back to ourselves. Path with Art was built to bring that wisdom forward—into hospitals, shelters, recovery programs, and the systems that shape community health.
Mental health needs are at an all-time high. The systems that individuals and communities depend on are under extraordinary strain. Yet these are the moments in which we find new solutions. In these moments, we reimagine how we care for one another.
Our participants are doing something profound when they write, paint, sing, and act. They’re rebuilding their identities. They’re finding belonging. Since 2020, participation in our programs has increased by 188%. The need is growing—and at Path with Art, we are rising to meet that need.
"[I love] learning new fine art mediums, and the amazing staff... are so positive and encouraging to me as a disabled veteran who is homebound."
"I feel like an equal human being, like I matter at PwA. Everyone here is so nice. And I'm accepted wherever I'm at."

The numbers tell a story...
Art in community fosters stability in a volatile world. As the need for trauma-informed arts classes and programming increases, Path with Art continues to refine and grow our approach to offer creative avenues toward greater health. The evidence speaks volumes: art works.

“I'm blown away by the ability of PwA staff and instructors to give trauma-informed support while meeting the needs of such a diverse group of people. You've all created a safe, inclusive haven allowing for creativity, growth, and expansion to replace the sense of hyper-vigilance and isolation so many of us struggle with. A place where uniqueness is celebrated and we can be our authentic selves… thank you so much.”
