The Peer Leadership Program (formerly Student Pathways Initiative) was developed in response to feedback from our students to create a broader range of opportunities- from lower barrier ways to get involved with us like workshops and Access Art, to higher involvement opportunities like the Certificate Program and Advanced Classes. Not only does this initiative put an emphasis on meeting every PwA community member where they are at, but it offers us an opportunity to witness and celebrate student growth and success. No matter if you are in a Drop-In Workshop or part of the Student Ambassadors, your journey and path matters, and we want to support you along the way! For more information, or to get involved with any of the following opportunities, reach out to the program team at 206-601-7112.

Certificate Program

In 2018 Path with Art began a Certificate Program to honor students who committed themselves to developing and growing within our programs. Students who successfully complete a course by attending 6 out of 8 classes are awarded a Certificate of Completion at the end of each class session, mailed to you or available for pickup at the office.

When you complete earn 4 Certificates of Completion, you become eligible for a Certificate of Achievement. This certificate qualifies students to participate in additional Path with Art programs, such as the Ambassador Program, special projects, and advanced classes. Certificates of Achievement will be awarded in a special celebration once a year during the summer!

Path with Art Ambassadors

The Ambassador Program is open to any participant artist who has earned a Certificate of Achievement and wishes to volunteer their time as a leader. Ambassadors represent Path with Art in the community, and can expect to develop their leadership skills, become comfortable discussing Path with Art. In this role, PwA participant artists have a chance to cultivate further engagement from the general public and their community, and support retention through leadership tasks in class. This is a volunteer position open only to participant artists, unlike the staff, Teaching Artist or Creative Mentor positions.

speaker’s bureau

This workshop is available to Certificate of Achievement holders with the goal of strengthening public speaking skills. The class focuses on growing confidence and cultivating a small group of spokespeople on behalf of Path with Art, eligible to speak at various public-facing engagements. This idea was fostered by participants interested in sharing how arts engagement and community has impacted their lives and wanting to share their stories.
