The PwA Garden
We are excited to officially announce the Path with Art garden project— a very collaborative, creative, and fun way to connect with PwA community and the earth.
A group of volunteers (ranging from complete beginners to experienced gardeners) has been stewarding three small plots at the UpGarden P-Patch on top of a parking garage near the ArtHOME since September 2025.
We’ve prepped these plots for Winter, planned what we’re going to plant in the Spring, and have been collaborating on how to incorporate art into the garden (little wooden statues, decorative tiles, you name it!), and ways to incorporate what's grown into our community art (making fabric dye out of plants, turning squash into instruments, using leaves in printmaking, etc.)
You’re Invited to Join!
Have gardening experience, an interest in incorporating nature into art, or even just hope to spend more time outside? We’d love to have you join the garden crew!

Get Connected:
Join our PWA Garden WhatsApp chat to connect with fellow gardeners, get invitations and reminders, and engage in fun plant/art conversations! In addition to the General channel, you can join whichever garden-team group chat you feel most interested in:
Planning and Skills Committee: plan plantings + maintenance, and write easy “how-to” guides for new gardeners.
Identification Committee: Identify and label plants throughout the garden.
Arts Committee: Integrate art into the garden + connect the garden to PWA classes
Group Meetings:
The Garden Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, and will meet more regularly as Spring comes around. If you’re free, we’d love to have you at our next meet-up on Tuesday March 10th, 11am-12:30pm at the PwA ArtHOME (200 Mercer)! At this gathering, we’ll start to germinate seeds to plant in the following months, and place decorated rocks in our garden plots.
