Nonprofit Administration & Communications Intern

Commitment: 10-20 hours / week
Reports to: Community Engagement Manager  
Work Schedule: Flexible - TBD

Position Summary

The Nonprofit Administration & Communications Intern will assist the Development and Communications team by providing general administrative support, as well as digital media support. The intern will help to organize digital media assets, provide support for print and online communications needs, with some potential data entry. This is an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of nonprofit development, communications, and marketing within the setting of a small-but-mighty nonprofit organization.

A strong candidate will have proficiency in MS Office suite, and be detail orientated, flexible in nature, a strong writer, and have copy editing skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • File and maintain records

  • Support Development activities, including data entry

  • Printing and preparing development materials

  • Organize digital media library

  • Organize statements from students and other community members

  • Event support as needed

  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of communications plan, including:

  • Social media

  • Email announcements

  • Editorial listings

  • Press outreach

  • Other relevant responsibilities as needed

Portfolio Building / Opportunities for Growth 

  • Learn the ins and outs of Nonprofit Administration

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Mailchimp, and Squarespace, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Gain experience working in a fast-paced, professional, creative environment

  • Apply knowledge learned in the classroom – gain exposure to real-world issues and receive hands-on experience navigating obstacles

Qualifications

A strong candidate will:

·     Connect to Path with Art’s mission

·     Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

·     Possess an upbeat attitude and be comfortable with shifting priorities

·     Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

·     Have strong interpersonal skills

·     Be able to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels

·     Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems and with MS Office Suite

·     Familiarity with Mailchimp, Salesforce, social media management platforms, graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not mandatory

Compensation

This internship is unpaid if used for credit. Students with work-study may be eligible for pay at $15/hr. If neither of these apply, there is potential for a small stipend and travel reimbursement.

Work Environment

Work is generally in an office setting but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of typical office environment.
